'Negotiating new signings!' - Arsenal fans in transfer frenzy after one-word Instagram message

Some Arsenal fans have had plenty to say about Edu's recent reunion with former Head of Football Raul Sanllehi.

On August 15, 2020, it was announced that the Spaniard was to leave the Gunners with immediate effect just shy of three years after arriving at the club following over a decade with La Liga giants Barcelona.

Sanllehi had been a key figure in north London alongside Vinai Ventaketasham and technical director, Edu.

But despite his exit, it would appear that he has kept in contact with the Brazilian, so much so that the pair were reunited in Monaco earlier in the week.

As spotted by AFCStuff on Twitter, a picture of the pair on a boat was uploaded to Instagram by Edu's wife, Paula.

And there was a simple one-word message that read: "Amigos" which translates to 'friends' in English.

But not all Gunners supporters were too keen on Edu visiting his friend in Monaco, especially as it's during the transfer window and some are growing quite frustrated with the lack of signings.

Despite being able to sign players for over a month now, only one new face has come through the doors at the Emirates Stadium so far and that is in the shape of left-back Nuno Tavares.

With that said, a deal bringing Albert Sambi Lokonga is understood to be edging closer to completion, whilst a deal to sign Ben White has been agreed.

So, could Edu have been in Monaco for more than one reason other than to reunite with Sanllehi?

Well, there is a theory amongst some Arsenal fans that the Brazilian was in town to conclude some transfer business.

Take a look at what's been said on Twitter...

@missAuba said: "Planning to get us another Willian on deadline day."

@madrigalaxy said: "In France negotiating new signings maybe?"

@JustAGooner14 said: "Monaco ain’t too far from Lyon……"
