India's Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra will compete in the men's javelin throw final at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow on Saturday, August 1. Chopra will aim to secure another Commonwealth Games gold medal after qualifying for the final with a best throw of 79.61 metres.
Chopra secured his place in the medal round after recording a 79.61m throw during the qualification stage. He finished fifth overall while facing challenging conditions at Scotstoun Stadium and will look to improve his performance in the final.
The Indian javelin star will face a strong field featuring defending Commonwealth champion Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan, Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage, reigning world champion Keshorn Walcott and former world champion Anderson Peters.
Indian athletes Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh have also qualified for the 12-member final.
