Need to bring changes to rules and regulations of revenue department, says Andhra Pradesh revenue minister

VISAKHAPATNAM: The State Revenue, Stamps and Registrations minister Dharmana Prasada Rao said that there is a need to bring changes to the rules and regulations and also the Acts of the Revenue department with the changing times.

He said that land is a main resource in the development of the state and also enhances the standards of the people in the state.

Speaking to the media here on Saturday, Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao said that land has become a main resource in the development of a state or a country. Now the revenue department in the state should also follow the rules.

He said that this regional revenue summit would discuss various changes and the Acts of the revenue department. Earlier two regional meets were organized at Vijayawada and also Tirupati towns. “We have been utilizing the revenue survey records introduced by the Britishers. Now, the state government has been conducting land survey on a large scale by utilizing modern technology. The survey would be completed soon. The department has set up the units for the work.” minister Dharmana Prasada Rao said.

He added that the employees were also appointed for the work at the village level. The rights of the people ‘if we can bring the lands facing various disputes into utilisations, then we can enhance the living standards of the public and also the GDP of the state. CM also wishes the same. We are trying to provide ownership rights to the persons who are cultivating the lands decades together,” he said. Previously, the governments had delayed in providing ownership rights to the persons who are cultivating the lands which were put into the category of dot lands and others. So far the state government has given house sites to 32 lakh people across that state and spent Rs. 1200000 lakh crores.

The revenue minister said this regional summit is nothing but to provide clarity to the revenue officials about the targets and aims of the state government. Nine districts collectors, joint collectors, sub-collectors, DROs, RDOs, and Tahsildars participated in the conference.

“If we need any changes in the implementation of reforms, we will bring them instantly and also send proposals for the changes to the state headquarters. We are giving priority to the auto mutation. In the new process, after completing the registration process auto mutation would take place. “ Revenue minister said. Earlier, the minister visited a photo exhibition and also Health Camp. Around 135 people got appointment letters under the deceased quota.
