BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Tuesday it is necessary to make all-out efforts to empower girls & women. It is our responsibility not only to worship girls, but also to protect them and make them dear to everyone.

All efforts should be made to ensure the education and prosperity of women. A statelevel Ladli Laxmi Utsav should be organised properly in Bhopal on October 14. Efforts should be made to connect around 40 lakh ‘Ladli Laxmis’ through the virtual medium. Chouhan was reviewing the preparations for the state-level ‘Ladli Laxmi Utsav’ at Minto Hall scheduled for October 14.

Chouhan said that girls should be virtually connected from every anganwadi and panchayat building to this festival organised for their prosperity and empowerment. Scholarships worth Rs 5, 99,00,000 lakh will be transferred online to 21, 550 girls of the state.

The programme should be telecast on TV, Doordarshan and spread through computer, laptop, mobile in every village, anganwadi centre, all districts, municipalities and district headquarters. A link of this broadcast should be sent to all public representatives, departmental officers, members of Shaurya Dal, self-help groups and Matru Sahyogini, to give a message to the ‘Ladli Laxmis’ and their mothers to join the Utsav.

Chouhan also directed to make arrangements for uploading photos, registering feedback and receiving suggestions from all the ‘Ladli Laxmis’ on the portal of the festival.

The chief minister said that suggestions should be received from the public to improve ‘Ladli Laxmi Yojana’. The ‘Ladli Laxmi’ festival should be organised annually by fixing a day every year. To improve ‘Ladli Laxmi Yojana 2.0’, it has been suggested that Rs 20,000 should be given to all the Ladlis after they pass Class 12, after completing at least two years of studies in graduation and vocational courses.

‘Ladli Laxmi Diwas’ should be organised like a festival at the state, district and gram panchayat level.

At the time of ‘Ladli Laxmi’ registration, the birth certificate should be issued along with a message of the chief minister.
