Kangaroos are taking over the streets in the Margaret River - well kinda
As the nation self isolates during the COVID-19 pandemic, a kangaroo was spotted hopping along the usually bustling Busselton Foreshore.
Several residents reported on social media that they had seen a kangaroo making its way through quiet urban streets close to Busselton's town centre.
The Easter bunny is cleared to enter Tasmania
The Easter Bunny will be classed as an essential traveller and therefore allowed to enter the state to deliver eggs without having to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival, Premier of Tasmania Peter Gutwein has announced.
Along with those tasked with assisting in the response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Easter Bunny will be exempt from the tough border restrictions imposed on non-essential travellers coming into the state.
While fuel prices have dropped below $1 in some places
Some drivers might be able to fill a petrol tank for less than $50 - if they knew where to look.
Prices dropped to 99.9 cents a litre for unleaded petrol at some stations over the weekend, including Shell outlets at Wivenhoe and East Devonport in Tasmania.
"The wholesale price for petrol is the lowest we have seen since the early 2000s, but in many places across the state we are not seeing the retail price reduce accordingly," RACT Group Chief Executive Officer Mark Mugnaioni said.
Local musician with just 100 Facebook followers plays to 32,000 people
Musician Andrew 'Parso' Parsons played a near-four hour set on Saturday evening, reaching 32,000 people through a live-streamed Facebook 'virtual concert'.
Playing from the isolation of his home and streaming onto the newly-established Pay it Forward Western Victoria Facebook page, Parsons, with a guitar and microphone, played from 8pm until almost midnight.
With about 300 followers of the page before the concert, he thought he'd have an audience of about 100.
Pages River flows through Murrurundi for the first time in almost four years
There is a renewed sense of optimism in Murrurundi after water flowed down the bone-dry riverbed of the Pages River for the first time in almost four years.
A welcome downpour of 43mm saw the liquid gold make its way through town on Saturday, much to the delight of locals.
They say it's the first time the river has run since October 2016.
