Nectar card users advised to check cards after people claim their points have been 'stolen'

Nectar Card users are being advised to check their accounts after a string of allegations were made that points had been 'stolen'.

Several people claim to have been left disheartened ahead of the Christmas period, after discovering that their points had 'disappeared', it is claimed.

Writing on Twitter, multiple Nectar Card users reached out to the company for help and advice.

"Hi, I’ve just noticed 10,000 points have been stolen from my account and spent at a store in Derby whilst I was using my card in Aylesbury!" claimed Nectar Card user Mark Wratten.

He added: "Loss of points is frustrating, can I retrieve? More importantly how do I stop happening again?"

Another Nectar Card user, Gail Watson, tweeted: "My partner's card has been hacked and our joint nectar points have been stolen. Please advise."

Aaron Welford wrote: "My nectar points saved up over the last year in time for Christmas shop. Have been stolen....and used twice in Northampton area months apart! @nectar can anything be done about redeeming my stolen points?? #6500pointsdown ."

The Manchester Evening News has approached Nectar Card for comment.

This isn't the first time Nectar Card has come under fire with shoppers.

Last month saw consumers hitting out at the scheme, as new changes meant a limit was put into place on the amount of vouchers they could receive when swapping points during the 'double up' event.

Posting on blogging website Mumsnet, one furious shopper claimed to have lost hundreds of pounds worth of points.

The angry consumer wrote:"Has anybody noticed that they have changed the rules this year - i.e. Only £100 worth of Nectar Double Up vouchers will be issued per Nectar card/account during the promotional period.

Major changes are coming to Tesco Clubcard and Nectar card users

"Previously there was no limit on how much you of your nectar points you could use. Previously, there was a limit of £100 voucher per item, now the overall limit you can spend is £100!

"I have 33,000 points which would have been worth £333 in the double up. Now it will be worth £100 + £115 ... so I'm losing £118. I'll be going to Tescos from now on."

A spokesperson for Nectar Card told the M.E.N. at the time: "We always aim to give our customers the best choice and value across promotions. Customers can redeem double their Nectar points, up to the value of 10,000 points, which is the equivalent of £100. We welcome customer feedback and are always looking at ways to improve our offers for customers."
