Nearly 900 new coronavirus cases confirmed across Nottinghamshire in last 24 hours

A total of 881 new confirmed coronavirus cases have been recorded across the whole of Nottinghamshire in just 24 hours.

As of Monday (October 19), 8,779 infections have been recorded in the city and a further 9,149 across the wider county, bringing the combined total to 17,928 since the start of the pandemic.

In the last day, the most significant rise has been in the city, with 399 new cases.

There have also been notable spikes in Gedling, with 96 new cases, Broxtowe, with 89, and 86 in Rushcliffe.

Mansfield remains the district of the county with the least cases, now at 896.

Below is the list for all areas of Nottinghamshire, listing the total number of cases since the pandemic began and the number of positive tests recorded on Monday (October 19):

Nottingham - 8,779 (increase of 399)

Ashfield - 1,346 (increase of 79)

Bassetlaw - 1,150 (increase of 40)

Broxtowe - 1,530 (increase of 89)

Gedling - 1,433 (increase of 96)

Mansfield - 896 (increase of 50)

Newark and Sherwood - 1,247 (increase of 42)

Rushcliffe - 1,547 (increase of 86)

The figures have been released by Public Health England.
