Nearly 90% of Dubliners over 12 fully vaccinated against Covid-19

New figures released by the HSE have shown that almost 90% of people in Dublin are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

In total, 86.6% of people aged over 12 in Dublin are fully vaccinated with the number rising to 88% for those who have received at least one dose.

The three counties with the highest vaccine rate in Ireland are Waterford with 96.6% fully vaccinated, Carlow at 96.4%, while 95% of people in Wexford are fully vaccinated, according to figures released to Newstalk.

In order to increase the vaccine rate across the country, the HSE has been setting up pop-up vaccine tents across numerous locations around the country.

The latest 14-day incidence rates for Dublin have shown a spike in cases across the county.

The national average of cases has also shot up in recent weeks. It stood at 394.2 a fortnight ago, but the most recent report from October 25, sees it standing at 587.1.

The highest 14-day incidence rate in Dublin is in Ongar with it currently standing at 884.6.

Yesterday, health officials reported a further 3,726 cases with 493 Covid-19 patients in hospital, of which 90 are in ICU.
