Construction work to build new council homes in Livingston is now well underway.
Some 29 new council homes are currently being built at Eagle Brae, with a further 29 homes being built nearby at Deans South.
They include a mixture of one, two, three, four and five bedroom houses and two and three bedroom bungalows.
Construction work is ongoing and expected to be complete by spring next year.
Overall, over 3000 new affordable homes will be made available by March 2023 including a mixture of new build homes and homes purchased from the open market and made available for social housing.
The 3000 homes are made up of council and Registered Social Landlord properties.
Executive councillor for services for the community, George Paul, said: “The site at Eagle Brae was formally a council depot but the building was deemed surplus to requirements. It’s fantastic to see that an unused site will be turned into affordable new homes which are in much demand.
“Livingston is the most sought-after location in West Lothian in terms of those looking for affordable homes. We are committed to increasing the availability of affordable homes in West Lothian and it is always pleasing to visit sites where new build homes are being built.”
