BHOPAL: Around 28,977 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered here on Saturday. For the current week, around 1.5 lakh doses have been administered in Bhopal, the second highest weekly average numbers since vaccination began on January 16.
Around 279 vaccination sites were in operation in the state capital on Saturday. District Covid-19 vaccination centre topped with 2,029 jabs administered. 24x7 Katju hospital centre was second with 561 jabs in last 24-hours, according to government data.
More than 8,700 people were administered with the vaccine dose in BMC-run vaccination centres on Saturday. BMC operates 85 centres, one for each of the 85 wards.
Obedia centre stuck at 10k doses
Health workers in Obedia School vaccination centre were intimated to wind up and leave, here on Saturday afternoon. Around 10,000 doses were administered in the centre which has been notified by district administration to double as a storage for Election Commission, according to reports. “We have been allotted the school to store EVM machines,” said a government official. The intervention halted the vaccination drive for some time.
