Nearly 1,000 properties left without power in Nottinghamshire village

Nearly 1,000 properties in a Nottinghamshire village have lost power this evening (Sunday March 14).

Western Power Distribution says 978 properties in East Leake and the LE12 area are without power.

It is hoped power will be restored by 7.30pm on Sunday night.

The incident was first reported to WPD at 6.07pm on Sunday.

In a tweet, the power company said: "Engineers are working on a powercut affecting customers in East Leake, LE12 and estimate to restore all supplies by 19:30. Our apologies for any inconvenience."

WPD later added at 7pm it hoped all power to homes would be back by midnight on Sunday.
