Neal Ardley urges Notts County to 'prove him wrong' as he lays down challenge

Neal Ardley wants his Notts County side to prove that winning hasn’t made them “go soft” as he challenged them to maintain their run of victories.

The Magpies have picked up six points from their last two games, but Ardley wants to make it three out of three when they travel to Dover on Saturday.

Victory would see Notts climb into the top seven with fans eager to see the team go on a lengthy run as they dream of making a return to the Football League.

While Ardley says he has question marks over his side’s ability to be consistently winning, he has issued a challenge to prove him wrong.

“There’s a saying that I really like in that winning can make you go soft,” said the former AFC Wimbledon boss.

“The best teams have the best mentalities.

“We haven’t got that yet and I don’t believe they’ve got it until they prove it to me.

“I want them to prove it to me at Dover, at home to Dagenham and Torquay.

“I want them to prove it in another three-game week and be relentless in the way they do things.”
