Neal Ardley to make changes for Notts County's National League clash with Chorley

Notts County boss Neal Ardley has revealed that he will be forced to make changes for Monday's National League clash with Chorley at Meadow Lane.

The Magpies were held to a 2-2 draw by bottom club Ebbsfleet United in Kent on Saturday but will be back in action just 48 hours later as their intense opening to this season's non-league calendar continues.

Notts were left ruing missed changes on the road last time out, a problem that Ardley says his side must solve as soon as possible and they were pegged back twice by their rivals as they capitalised on defensive mistakes.

Ardley's players grew tired as the second half aged in the north Kent sunshine and now the 46-year-old will be forced into a number of changes to keep his side fresh.

"We are going to have to freshen it up," said Ardley.

"We have got good sports scientists and a good medical team and we have been preparing for this as it came.

"We've got all the recovery plans and ice baths and al the stuff for them.

"We have got a long journey home but we will start the recovery process there."

Ardley said that Notts had shot themselves in the foot at the Kuflink Stadium on Saturday by not leaving with all three points.

But as the National League season enters its seventh round on Monday it is time for the Magpies to start putting some vital points on the board.

"I have just said to the boys that if they want to make an excuse they can," he said.

"They can say that it is hot, that we have got two games in three days, so on.

"But that was not good enough and we have got to put it right on Monday. No excuses."
