Neal Ardley sets Notts County target of charging back towards the playoffs

Neal Ardley has set Notts County a target of charging their way back towards the playoffs during  the festive period after they secured their first National League victory since October.

The Magpies roared to a 4-2 win at Halifax at the weekend as they came from behind on two occasions to seal a stunning victory in a fabulous performance.

Kyle Wootton and Mitch Rose both helped themselves to a brace at the Shay where the win lifted Notts to within four points of the top seven.

With a busy festive period ahead of them,  which sees them play Maidenhead twice with a trip to Solihull Moors in between, Notts know a good run can catapult them back into contention.

Ardley has set his side a target of what they must achieve in terms of points from those games, but would not divulge what it was.

“We know we have a  tough Christmas schedule,  but this win will  only be good if we can get something out of the home game on Boxing Day,” he said.

“It gives us a lift going  into those two games in three days.

“Myself and the staff have set ourselves a points target that, hopefully, come January 4 after the Bromley game, will see us  right in touch with the playoffs.

“That’s our aim.”
