Neal Ardley reveals visit to Football Radar and says analysis already benefiting Notts County

Neal Ardley said his trip to Football Radar proved an invaluable experience and insists he has already used some of their analysis with his players.

The company, owned by Notts chairman Christoffer Reedtz and his brother Alex, specialise in football data from leagues all across the world.

Ardley visited their offices on Monday to get an understanding of how they work, which saw him give a presentation while analysts at Football Radar also offered their findings on his Notts team.

And the Magpies boss says some of what he learned has already been shown to his squad.

“I went on Monday and had a full day with them,” he said.

“It was really interesting. They have great offices and I met a lot of their analysts.

“We went through how they do things and how they rate things too.

“We talked about how hard football is to quantify. Rugby is a little bit easier to work the stats out and it is the same with golf.

“I showed them some clips that we do with our players on how we try to play which they found really interestng.

“A couple of them noticed a lot of it in our play which shows what we are doing in training is coming out.

“But they showed some us some stuff that was invaluable and I showed some of that to the lads on Thursday.

“We spoke about doing it more often so they can get a football insight and in the same vein they are giving us stats and information.”
