Neal Ardley reveals Notts County's top scorer Kane Hemmings has undergone knee procedure

Neal Ardley has revealed Notts County's top scorer Kane Hemmings has had fluid drained from his knee - but insists he's in good shape as the Magpies prepare for three matches in 10 days.

The 13-goal striker was forced to miss a couple of days of training after undergoing the procedure earlier this week, but Ardley confirmed he rejoined his teammates on the training field on Thursday, ahead of Saturday's League Two clash at Crewe and Easter matches against MK Dons and Crawley.

He now looks set to start at Gresty Road, which is a major boost for Notts in their survival bid because he has scored twice in their last two matches, in their 3-0 win at Stevenage and 2-2 draw against Northampton Town at Meadow Lane, netting the vital equaliser against the Cobblers.

"We're all good," said Ardley, giving an update on the injury situation at the club.

"Kane Hemmings had to have a little bit of fluid drained from his knee, but that was only because we know we've got a busy schedule coming up and we knew it would be a big bonus for us.

"So he missed the first couple of days, but he's trained today and he's fine, so we're all good."
