Neal Ardley reveals Notts County player turned down loan exit

Neal Ardley has revealed how one of his Notts County players has refused a loan move away from Meadow Lane.

The Magpies boss had been hoping for outgoings in order to free up some money that would allow him to move in the transfer market to improve his squad with a target man and a winger.

Ardley did not name the player concerned, but that he did not fancy leaving the club despite the fact he is currently not getting any game time.

“We are no closer to any outgoings,” he said.

“I said before we had a couple of offers for some of the younger boys.

“One of them didn’t want to take it up. He just said he didn’t want to go. I can’t force them.

“We had to move on, but if it was me I wouldn’t want a Saturday where I wasn’t playing a game of football.

“Hopefully the other boys feel the same.

“We are working hard to try to get that game time for players who are not going to be involved at the weekend.

“I’ve been in that situation before as a player and it’s horrible.

“You want to be working towards a game.”
