Neal Ardley names his Notts County XI to face Harrogate at Wembley

Notts County manager Neal Ardley named an unchanged side as the Magpies aimed to secure an instant return to the Football League against Harrogate this afternoon.

The Magpies boss kept faith with the same 11 which produced a convincing performance against Barnet last weekend which secured their trip to the famous arch.

The biggest boost for Notts was that Kristian Dennis was fit enough to take his place up front having been replaced in the second half of the 2-0 win over the Bees due to a calf strain.

But the former Chesterfield forward, who has scored 15 goals this season, trained without any problem and was available to start up front.

In goal was Sam Slocombe, behind the back four of Richard Brindley, Alex Lacey, Ben Turner and Joel Bagan.

In midfielde was Callum Roberts, Mitch Rose, Michael Doyle and Jim O’Brien.

Kyle Wootton partnered Dennis in attack.

Ardley would have been looking to his experienced players to settle any nerves with Brindley, Doyle and Ben Turner all having experience of playing at Wembley.

And Notts fans were hanging their hopes on dangerman Roberts, dubbed the Geordie Messi by the fans, following his spectacular individual goal against Barnet last weekend.
