Neal Ardley looking forward to hearing Notts County ace moaning again

Jim O’Brien underwent surgery on his broken arm this week - and Notts County boss Neal Ardley can’t wait to have the midfielder back moaning again.

The Scotsman suffered a double fracture and a dislocated elbow in the 2-1 defeat at Bromley last weekend which needed resetting and pinning during an operation this week.

Notts are now braced to be without O'Brien for the next eight to 12 weeks which is a blow given the quality of his  recent performances.

O'Brien will recuperate at home for the time being and Ardley is looking forward to having the former Scunthorpe midfielder making his ears ring again.

“The realisation has kicked in that he’s going to have a bit of a spell out,” said Ardley.

“To be fair Jim is hard to keep happy when he’s in the team let alone when he’s not!

“When he’s back I am sure he will be moaning about this, that and the other and it will be great to have that.

“We will look forward to those moans if we can get him in and around the place.

“I think he’s going to be very bored in his house. He’s going to want to get in very soon.”
