Neal Ardley insists Notts County must not lose their identity against revitalised AFC Fylde

Neal Ardley believes AFC Fylde are starting to gain momentum after a disappointing start to the season and says his Notts County side must be “ready for everything”.

Dave Challinor’s side arrive at Meadow Lane on Saturday having won their last two games and secured a memorable fightback against Wrexham on Tuesday to win 3-2.

Fylde were highly fancied to be a promotion contender this season after narrowly missing out last term but it has been a surprisingly slow start for the Lancastrians.

Notts boss Ardley feels they will still end up challenging for a promotion to the Football League in May, but hopes his side can derail their bid for a third successive win.

Notts County manager Neal Ardley (Dan Westwell)

“They are just starting to get that momentum that all of us are looking for.

“They had a sticky start like all the fancied teams did.

“They’ve won a couple on the bounce now and they did very well in the second half on Tuesday night.

“They will be on a high and I think they will be one of the teams in the top half come May.

“We’ve got to be ready for everything, but at the same time, not lose our own identity.”
