Neal Ardley hoping this influential Notts County ace is available for Bromley clash

Neal Ardley is hoping Ben Turner’s calf injury will not rule him out of Saturday’s trip to Bromley.

The influential defender was substituted in the second half of the 1-0 win over Halifax,  after he was seen limping after sprinting to clear an attack.

Notts fans are now  eagerly waiting to see if the former Mansfield ace will be fit for the weekend after his impressive start to the campaign.

Ardley decided to take the defender off as a precaution and believes the injury is only a minor issue rather than one that will keep him sidelined for an extended period of time.

“Ben just felt his calf tightening up,” he said.

“He had a sprint in the second half, and he brilliantly defended a ball in behind.

“He felt some tightness in his calf and that can mean many things be it cramp or a tweak.

“We took him off when we saw him limping.

“He said he felt that it was on the verge of going, so touch wood he will be fine.

“The worst case is he might have a tiny grade one in there.”
