Neal Ardley hopes Notts County can be 'great again' as he welcomes Meadow Lane takeover

Neal Ardley has not met Notts County's potential new owners - but the Magpies boss has welcomed the prospect of a takeover at Meadow Lane.

It is a week since club owner Alan Hardy said he had accepted an offer to sell Notts to "a very credible party" who were undertaking due diligence.

And football dealmaker Terry Pritchard, who is said to have been advising a group of buyers based outside of Europe, was pictured in the directors’ box at Meadow Lane during last Saturday's 2-2 draw against Northampton Town.

Ardley says he's not had any dealings with Hardy's possible successors, having been fully focused on the Magpies' battle for survival in the Football League.

"I've got enough on my plate making sure we are prepared for five more games," he said.

"I don't really want to take my eye off the ball, with the football.

"The main thing in any of this is the club, it's not the individuals. It's not my job and anyone else's around the place," he added.

"It's the club and making sure the club's in a place where it can go forward and be great again. That's all that matters.

"So new owners coming in potentially, if the offer has been accepted, that would be great for us all.

"I just hope that they are coming into a League Two club."
