Neal Ardley has no plans to 'jump ship' at Notts County

Notts County manager Neal Ardley has no plans to “jump ship” at Meadow Lane but says he will require assurances that it won’t be an impossible job next season.

The Magpies are trying to prepare for a maiden voyage in non-league, but are shrouded in uncertainty with a takeover of the club still awaiting to be completed.

Ardley says he would like to be a part of the club moving forward, but says the plans for next season are still up in the air.

He still feels Notts have an opportunity to rebuild but it has to give the club a solid chance of moving forward.

“It could be a chance to start afresh, but the next two months are going to be tough,” he said.

“There’s far too much uncertainty and there’s no clarity on the way forward.

“If the new people come in with the right intentions, and the right way of thinking, then anything can be achievable, particularly with that support.

“I am not going to stand here and say I don’t want to be here and that I will jump ship because there are too many people doing that.

“But from my point of view, one thing I can’t do is an impossible task.

“And looking back, this was near to an impossible task.”
