Neal Ardley hails 'honesty and integrity' of Notts County's new owners

Neal Ardley has hailed the impact of Notts County’s new owners and says they are “desperate” to bring success to Meadow Lane.

Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz completed their purchase of the club from previous owner Alan Hardy just over a month ago as they ended one of the most turbulent periods in the Magpies’ history.

They immediately settled all the debts which enabled Notts to come out of a transfer embargo just days before the season began, which allowed manager Ardley to build a competitive squad.

And with stability returning to Meadow Lane after a summer of financial uncertainty that saw staff and players unpaid for two months before their arrival, the Reedtz brothers are seeing momentum build slowly on the pitch.

They were treated to a huge win on Bank Holiday Monday when Notts thrashed Chorley 5-1 and boss Ardley is planning a trip to London to see the duo who own the betting advice firm Football Radar.

He has been impressed with how they operate with the duo committed to achieving success.

“First and foremost they are really good people,” he said.

“They are genuine, honest and have a lot of integrity.

“They are entrusting people and listening to them, they are very intelligent, obviously, but it’s the first time they have run a football club.

“It’s not just us on the football front, but around the club, people have brought lots of problems to them that the club are facing.

“They’ve looked at it very calmly and where the priorities lie. It’s been great.

“There isn’t a never-ending pot of money, but they’ve looked at the football and said lets try and get that part right and give us a chance to look at the longer term view afterwards.

“They’ve been fantastic and they are desperate to help you. They are desperate to bring success, but do it the right way.

“I’ve been very impressed with what I’ve seen.”
