Neal Ardley hails Enzio Boldewijn as he reveals Notts County winger's squad pep-talk

Neal Ardley has hailed Enzio Boldewijn's recent performances and says the brilliant Dutch winger was an inspiration prior to Notts County's clash against Woking.

Boldewijn jumped off the bench to create Kyle Wootton's winner against Woking at the weekend with the 1-0 win lifting the Magpies to third in the National League table.

The former Crawley winger started among the subs after tests prior to the game had indicated he was showing signs of fatigue.

But Ardley said his response was magnificent particularly in the dressing room before the game.

"We had a good chat a few weeks back," he said.

"I knew and he knew that he wasn't quite where he can be.

"So the fact that he's put in some really good performances, in the meantime, is a good sign.

"We will keep driving and wanting more. And I'll sort of keep kicking him up the backside trying to get more out of him.

"I am delighted with his  response.

"Before the game on Saturday when players are not in the squad, they can sulk because they're  human and that can affect their performance.

"But Enzio, and I heard him before the game, he was getting around talking to people,  demanding from people and that's the sign of a team player.

"He  accepted somebody else was going to do the hard yards for him and he might be do the hard yards later on."
