Neal Ardley feels he has a 'really good team' at Notts County this season

Neal Ardley feels he has  a “really good team” at Notts County this season as he challenged them to continue their upward momentum.

The Magpies rose to eighth in the National League table on Tuesday night as they ended Dagenham’s unbeaten run with a 2-0 win at Meadow Lane.

Two terrific strikes from Regan Booty and Kristian Dennis sealed the victory which was Notts’ third in four games.

Notts could break into the play-off positions with a victory over Torquay at Meadow Lane on Saturday and Ardley feels his side are justifying his belief that he has  a side capable of challenging this season.

Asked whether the team had exceeded his expectations on the back of a turbulent summer, Ardley said: “No.

“With everything that went on in the summer, you can never look and say we will get there.

“You are always apprenhensive.

“But if you look at the squad and not forget the likes of Jim O’Brien and Damian McCrory,  who were both missing on Tuesday because of injury, then  I think we are a really good team.

“My challenge  has always been to them that actions speak louder than words.”
