Neal Ardley explains why he is 'taking his hat off' to Notts County supporters

Notts County boss Neal Ardley has hailed the club’s “phenomenal”  support and hopes fans are enjoying the ride at Meadow Lane this season.

The Magpies currently boast the highest average attendance in the league  with 5,402 fans coming through the turntiles ahead of Wrexham who are second with 4,422.

Notts have been backed brilliantly all season at home and on the road and their support has been rewarded on the pitch with the club currently in the playoff positions in the National League.

Another big home crowd is expected for the visit of Hartlepool at the weekend and Magpies boss Ardley hopes they are savouring their start to the season.

“The fans have been great,” he said.

“I suspect a few of them feared they wouldn’t have  a club to support.

“I hope and like to think the performances have made the games more enjoyable to watch.

“Wins help as well, but they have  been  great home and away.

“They were phenomenal at Woking. I take my hat off to the people that travelled to go through traffic to get to a night game.

“Thankfully we rewarded them and we’ve got to do the same again on Saturday.”
