Neal Ardley confirms Notts County have enquired about a "couple of players"

Neal Ardley says Notts County are interested in making additions to their squad and revealed they have already enquired about a “couple of players”.

The Magpies boss  remained guarded over the players’ identities, but insisted they would only make a move if it fits in with the club’s financial remit.

The Post understands the club is hoping for a breakthrough in the next 24 hours with Notts eager to cement their place in the National League playoff positions.

But boss Ardley says the club would only add players to their squad who  are better than what they already have on their books.

“There are one or two players we are interested in, but we will only do what is right for the club,” he said.

Notts County Manager Neal Ardley (Dan Westwell)

“We’ve enquired  about a couple to see whether it is in our remit and our financial ability.

“If it isn’t then it won’t happen, but if it is then something might happen.

“At the moment, it’s a case of watch this space. I can’t say no we’re not interested in anyone because we are.

“But it will only be if it fits. It has to be somebody that is going to add value or a dimension to the team which we haven’t got.”
