Neal Ardley braced for biggest week in Notts County's history

Neal Ardley admits his Notts County side are under “huge pressure” to save their Football League status in the most important week in the club’s history.

The Magpies will be relegated to the National League at the weekend if they lose to Grimsby and Macclesfield beat Port Vale.

A big crowd is expected at Meadow Lane to help roar Notts to a crucial win that would at least take their chances of survival to the final day at Swindon.

Boss Ardley admits it is  all or nothing at the weekend and while he feels his players have been brave they have not got the rewards they deserve.

“These two games are massive and everything is all on them,” he said.

“If we don’t get the result we want on Saturday that could be it.

“There is huge pressure but we’ve been under huge pressure for God knows how long.

Port Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite responds to Notts County takeover rumours

“We are trying to be brave, stick our shoulders back and the players have done that in the last two games without getting the rewards.”
