REGINA — NDP Leader Ryan Meili is pitching his party to who he sees as disenfranchised Saskatchewan Party voters to consider in the provincial election.
Voters are to go to the polls on Oct.26.
At a campaign stop in Regina, Meili spoke directly to people who have voted for the Saskatchewan Party in the past.
He says he's hearing from some who say they are tired of the Sask. Party and are looking for change.
Meili is encouraging voters to look to their NDP candidates and elect a New Democratic government.
If that happen, he's promising to bring in a $15-an-hour minimum wage and spend millions to shrink class sizes and shorten wait lists for medical services.
"Scott Moe might be satisfied, but the people of Saskatchewan are not, "Meili said Thursday following a leaders debate the night before.
"To those people, I say you have a choice. You can vote for your NDP candidate."
Going into the election, the NDP held 13 seats in the legislature, while the Saskatchewan Party had 46.
Moe is looking to secure a fourth term for the party that has won three consecutive majorities.
Meili has acknowledged his party is the clear underdog in the race, but believes there is an appetite for change because the economy is worse off than it has been in the past.
