Ndombele, Lamela, Walker-Peters - The starting XI Pochettino should pick against Aston Villa

Aston Villa are first up for Tottenham on Saturday evening as the 2019/20 Premier League season gets going.

Spurs will actually start with a rare home game on the opening day and they will be hoping to take full advantage of it as they bid to make a fast start.

As a mouth-watering encounter follows a week later against Premier League champions Man City at the Etihad Stadium, it's imperative that Mauricio Pochettino's team start well as they look to challenge at the top of the league.

So what team should the manager pick on the opening day against Villa?

The game against the newly-promoted side could see Tanguy Ndombele make his competitive debut following his club-record move from Lyon, while there will hopefully be another couple of new faces in the squad with the transfer deadline on Thursday.

Giovani Lo Celso and Bruno Fernandes continue to be linked with a move to north London as Spurs looking to bring in another attacking midfielder, with Ryan Sessegnon also a possible arrival if the club can agree on a deal with Fulham.

However, Pochettino will have to do without a handful of players for the game with the treatment room at Spurs rather busy at present following injuries to Juan Foyth and Dele Alli over the past week.

Serge Aurier and Eric Dier are two players not to feature for the team in pre-season but we could potentially see them return to the matchday squad after they made their comebacks in training at the end of last week.

But now it's time for you to pick the team that you want to see face up Aston Villa at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

We've added Lo Celso, Fernandes and Sessegnon to our selector for you to pick just in case they do end up signing on the dotted line in N17 over the next 48 hours.

Use the team selector above to decide on the players you believe should be in the starting XI and let us know.
