NCP extends free parking offer to Nottingham key workers

A car park operator is extending its free parking offer to all key workers.

On Friday, March 20 National Car Parks (NCP) announced free parking would be available to NHS staff in more than 150 of its car parks.

In light of the Prime Minister’s decision to impose lockdown measures, all NCP car parks in Nottingham city centre, where possible, will remain open and free for all workers who need to be at work during this time.

Workers are urged to check the NCP website to ensure the car park they want to visit is included in this scheme, as it is only able to offer this at the car parks where NCP controls the pricing.

This means the arrangements of NCP airport car parks, hospital, rail and shopping centre car parks may not be included as these are subject to landlord decisions.

Once the car parks are open for business again, NCP will review the definition of key workers in line with Government advice and who the free parking offer may apply to.

CEO of NCP, Jonathan Scott, said: “We’re open where we can for all who need parking at this vital time.

"Please park with us at no charge. We hope this goes some way to helping all those who are still needing to work and care for people.

"We urge you to check on our website to make sure the car park you normally visit is still open as although most of our sites are, we are still having to close some down where landlords request that we do. We hope you all stay safe and well."

NCP has more than 150,000 spaces across more than 500 car parks in towns, cities, airports and railway stations.

In Nottingham city centre, there are five NCP car parks in the city centre where the free parking applies: Stoney Street, Maid Marian Way, Mount Street, St James' Street and Huntingdon Street.
