In a year in which everything has to remain flexible, and nothing is a given, it looks like March Madness may end up being one mad dash in one single area of the country.
According to a release from the NCAA Monday, the Tournament will no longer have the various host cities that were already announced and prepared to kick off all the Mayhem. Instead, things will be centered around one geographical location. The presumption here is that by doing so, the NCAA can create as close to a bubble environment as possible while the coronavirus pandemic still rages on in the country.
And while it’s clearly not a done deal, the NCAA also announced that it is preliminary talks with the state of Indiana to host all 68 teams within the Hoosier state. So far, the dates of the Tournament are to remain the same, but don’t be surprised if something changes there too.

One has to assume that the home of the NCAA, Indianapolis, would be a major factor in hosting a slew of games, but it would be nearly impossible for one venue, or one city to take on all the logistics and schedule associated with a tournament that size.
There is sure to be more come out on this when plans get closer to finalized, but it looks like Indiana might be the epicenter of the sporting world come March and April.
