NCAA announces decision on UGA transfer QB JT Daniels

Georgia transfer quarterback JT Daniels announced on Twitter Monday that the NCAA declared him to be immediately eligible to play this season.

Daniels transferred from USC after starting 11 of 12 games as a true freshman. The former five-star signal caller suffered a knee injury early in the 2019 season and redshirted. He will have three years to play at Georgia.

“Thank you to the NCAA for granting me immediate eligibility and allowing me to play football this fall,” Daniels posted on his Twitter acviunt. “I will not comment on the waiver or transfer, but look forward to a great 2020 season with my teammates.”

Daniels will compete for the quarterback position, vacated by the early departure of three-year starter Jake Fromm, with Wake Forest grad transfer Jamie Newman.
