The News Broadcasters Federation has advised news channels not to invite Pakistani panelists on television shows in the wake of tensions between the countries over the Pahalgam terror attack.
“As a precautionary measure, NBF strongly requests from inviting guests or panelists from Pakistan for participation in news debates, panel discussions, or any programming content, until further notice,” the advisory stated.
The NBF’s advisory comes a day after the News Broadcasters and Digital Association urged all its member channels to stop inviting Pakistani panelists who “propagate false propaganda against India”. In an advisory, the association said the ministry of information and broadcasting “has drawn our attention to” such channels in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.

“Editors of NBDA are advised to refrain from inviting panelists, speakers, and commentators from Pakistan in their programme(s), who are known for espousing views that undermine the sovereignty, integrity, and security of the nation and speak against our country,” it said.
The advisories come days after 16 Pakistani YouTube channels were banned in India for “provocative content” and “misinformation” following the Pahalgam attack.
Newslaundry had earlier detailed how certain channels had continued to feature inappropriate remarks by Pakistani commentators.
