NBA Twitter reacts to Steph Curry becoming NBA’s new all-time 3-point leader

On Tuesday night, changes were made to the NBA’s history books.

With a deep triple in the first quarter against the New York Knicks, Steph Curry became the NBA’s new leader for made 3-pointers. The Golden State Warriors guard snapped Ray Allen’s previous NBA all-time record from beyond the arc.

With the record looming, Curry only needed two 3-pointers on Tuesday to pass Allen’s mark. Curry didn’t waste much time. The 33-year-old guard made history with a jumper over his former teammate Alec Burks with 7:33 remaining in the opening quarter.

The historic jumper pushed Curry to a mark of 2,974 made jumpers from the 3-point line, passing Allen at 2,973. While Allen’s reign lasted for 11 years, it took Curry 511 fewer games to catch the Hall of Fame sharpshooter.

Curry finished the contest against the Knicks with 22 points on 5-of-14 shooting from long distance in Golden State’s 105-96 victory over New York at Madison Square Garden.
