Klay Thompson delivered a signature performance at the Chase Center in a potential playoff preview against the Phoenix Suns, and the Golden State Warriors turned a huge first-quarter advantage into a 123-112 victory.

The Warriors outscored the Suns 43-21 in the first period behind Thompson’s hot shooting. Thompson, who finished the game with 38 points on 14-of-23 shooting, scored 33 in the first half.

The Suns were able to close the gap, but the Warriors held on to win their eighth in a row at home. Golden State moved into fifth place in the Western Conference with the victory, and are only 1.5 games behind the fourth-place Suns.
