NBA Twitter reacts to James Wiseman’s career high 30 point performance in Warriors’ loss vs. Nets

Without several key players due to injury, including Steph Curry (shoulder), Klay Thompson (rest) and Andrew Wiggins (adductor), it wasn’t pretty for the Golden State Warriors in the second leg of a road back-to-back against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

Behind a 21 points first-half performance from former Warrior Kevin Durant, the Nets stormed away to a 40-point lead in the first half, outscoring the Warriors 91-51 in the first two quarters. Brooklyn ended the first half shooting a red-hot 71.4% from the field against Golden State.

Although the Warriors responded with some fight in the second half, Brooklyn’s commanding lead helped them cruise to a dominant victory on Wednesday night, 143-113.

During the Warriors’ blowout loss to the Nets, James Wiseman provided a bright spot for the away team in Brooklyn. The former No. 2 overall pick recorded a new career-high in scoring with 30 points on 12-of-14 shooting from the field in 28 minutes off the bench. Wiseman added six rebounds, two rebounds and an assist against the Nets. Wiseman even showed off his range, hitting a jumper from beyond the arc on his way to a new career high.

Despite Wiseman’s performance, it wasn’t enough to solve Golden State’s problems on the road. The Warriors’ loss in Brooklyn finished their six-game road swing with a 1-5 record. Golden State’s road record has now fallen to 3-16 on the season.
