NBA Trade Rumors: Wiggins to OKC for Chris Paul and Danilo Gallinari?

After a couple of underwhelming seasons in Minnesota for Andrew Wiggins, could it be that a fresh start in a new city is what the former Kansas standout needs?

And could Oklahoma City be that place? Sounds kind of crazy. Hold on.

Adding the former number one overall pick to play alongside Karl-Anthony Towns hasn’t exactly worked out the way the Timberwolves had hoped. In the last four years, the Wolves have gone 143-185 with just one playoff victory to show for it. That’s not enough for someone of Towns’ talent.

It might be time for a change for all parties involved.

In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Greg Swartz, suggested that Wiggins could be sent to Oklahoma City in a deal for Chris Paul and Danilo Gallinari.

(Shai) Gilgeous-Alexander was one of the main prizes the Thunder received in the Paul George trade, and he should immediately be given the ball and a starting job after an impressive rookie season. That’s unlikely to happen with Paul on board.

There were already rumblings that the Thunder wanted to offload Paul and his contract, and sending him to Minnesota along with Gallinari, would allow Oklahoma City to do that while receiving a younger player with tremendous potential in return.

Last season, Wiggins averaged 18 points per game on 41% shooting.
