NBA Trade Deadline: Rondo goes to Clippers for Lou Williams

On a day when nearly every Western Conference playoff team made a trade to get better, the Los Angeles Clippers added a personal touch for the Los Angeles Lakers to beware of with their big move just before the trade deadline. According to multiple reports, the Clippers are acquiring Rajon Rondo from the Atlanta Hawks in a trade where they will send out Lou Williams.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Sam Amick first broke the news that Rondo would be on his way to the Clippers, with ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski confirming that it would indeed be Lou Williams on his way out of L.A.

The Lakers have yet to make a move, with about 20 minutes to go until the trade deadline. There have been several reports connecting Toronto’s Kyle Lowry to the Lakers, but according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst moments ago on The Jump, the Raptors are asking for the Lakers to give up Talen Horton-Tucker in return. We will have more as the deadline approaches.

The Lakers will also surely be active in the buyout market as it materializes following the deadline.
