That does it for the liveblog coverage of the 2017 NBA trade deadline. Thanks to all who followed along.

WINNERS

Cavaliers - Because the Celtics didn’t get better.

Mavericks - They won the big deal of the day in getting Nerlens Noel.

Pelicans - They acquired DeMarcus Cousins for next to nothing.

Lakers - Found out Paul George wants to play for them eventually.

LOSERS

Celtics - Sat tight (in second behind the Cavaliers).

Sixers - Didn’t do well in the Noel trade and still have Okafor.

Knicks and Kings - The NBA jesters of the coasts.

All of us who hoped the trade deadline would be exciting.

Not a trade, but the Mavericks are definitely looking to get younger. Maybe Williams ends up with a Pelicans team desperate for guard help.

And it’s now official: the Cleveland Cavaliers have won the trade deadline.

This makes my head hurt.

The Knicks kept Derrick Rose because they’re concerned about Rubio’s injury history. I just ... the Knicks.

And Rose is 28.

Phoenix trades PJ Tucker to Toronto

Tucker will be tasked with guarding LeBron James if Toronto meets Cleveland in the playoffs.

Bulls and Thunder finalize multi-player trade

Call him Dougie McTraded.

Annnnnnnnd it's the trade deadline

It has come and gone. But we may still hear about deals that were done right before the clock struck 3 p.m. ET. I’ll stick around until 3:30 p.m. ET to see and/or wonder more about what the Sixers were doing with that Noel trade.

Interesting that the Lakers traded for Ennis, who averages 1.9 points and 6.3 minutes per game. Zero chance a player with such a low profile was on Magic Johnson’s radar since he just took the job.

Lakers and Rockets make a small trade

Houston guard Tyler Ennis goes to the Lakers. Lakers guard Marcelo Huertas goes to Houston. And the Rockets plan to waive him.

Yeah, not a deal that will tip the NBA’s balance of power.

The Paul George-is-going-to-_________ portion of trade deadline day is reportedly over.

With Boston not getting him, that essentially clinches another NBA Finals appearance for LeBron James. Congratulations to Cleveland.

We have a second trade! Milwaukee is trading Roy Hibbert to Denver.

Denver wanted Paul George. They got Roy Hibbert. You don’t always get what you want in life.

Yep. The list of players with Embiid’s injury background to go on to a full, healthy career is ... probably not even long enough to be considered a list.

Obviously, he’s a very fun and talented player and it would be great if he has a long career. But it’s a big risk and if they’re keeping Jahlil Okafor as insurance ... Jahlil Okafor is about as exciting as any other kind of insurance.

Another Isaiah Thomas emoji to bookend NBA trade season ...

And there we have it. Confirmation.

(Thanks to @datskindatrudoe for alerting me to this tweet.)

Thirty minutes until the trade deadline and ... still just one trade

I have no idea. Nor have I ever had any idea what the Knicks are doing. In fact, if I did understand what the Knicks are doing, I would be concerned for my own mental state.

Paul George wants to play for the Lakers and if that happens one day, Magic Johnson will get credit for bringing him in and making the Lakers a playoff team again. What a world.

TNT has acquired Chris Bosh from the Miami Heat.

No Traction: The Story of the 2017 NBA Trade Deadline.

I’d love to hear what Denver considers a “monster” deal, assuming it didn’t include Nikola Jokic.

The reviews of the Noel trade are coming in from Philadelphia media and ... they’re not good.

This trade, as it stands, is the least-defensible move I can remember the Sixers making in the post-Iverson era. The Elton Brand contract? He at least was that good in the not-that-recent past. The Bynum trade? Him too, and hell, the press conference was exciting. Drafting Jahlil? Well, a lot of other smart people seemed to think it was a good idea at the time. This is the only deal I can remember viewing like a cliff well off in the distance, with plenty of BRIDGE OUT signs clearly located along the way, wondering why the driver is still going, yelling at them to stop, and then watching hopelessly as they casually sail off the edge. Forget about trusting the process, why did we not trust common sense on this one?

Yikes.

Some Thunder and Bulls rumors ...

Remember how I said Roberson was either traded or just very affectionate? It turns out the answer is: very affectionate.

In a second. Paul George is an established star player who is only 26. The chances anyone in the top three of the draft eventually develops into someone as good as Paul George aren’t great.

I will. This is a national holiday for speculation.

Update: There is no update. Things are very quiet.

That means things have died out or a bunch of trade news is about to explode.

Glad I could clear that up for you.

Updated

Breaking: Oklahoma City forward Andre Roberson has been traded or is just a very affectionate young man.

Just 90 minutes until the trade deadline and there has been ... one trade.

Here’s an early look at my post-draft deadline analysis:

WINNERS: Mavericks

LOSERS: Sixers

That was easy.

The Pelicans’ frontcourt is looking pretty good with Cousins and Anthony Davis. The backcourt? Ugh. They’re auditioning Jarrett Jack.

I’m of the belief that unless you’re one of the small handful of NBA teams with a legit shot at an NBA title, the trade deadline should only be used to compile draft picks or very young players with upside. When a team like Toronto trades for Serge Ibaka ... what does that accomplish? Allows them to lose to the Cavaliers by slightly closer scores?

And my favorite NBA trade of all-time is Kobe Bryant for Vlade Divac. Proof that even before this weekend, Divac knew a lot about bad trades.

And now Wojnarowski is contradicting ESPN’s Windhorst. I’ll play the odds and side with Woj here.

A week ago, executives around the league were sure Jahlil Okafor would be dealt, too. So who knows.

UPDATE: Philadelphia’s return in the Nerlens Noel trade just got a lot worse.

The Sixers must love Justin Anderson like Ranadive loves Buddy Hield.

Updated

Not NBA trade news, but this is as hilarious as that DeMarcus Cousins trade ...

BIG NEWS! Isaiah Thomas is backing away from his trade deadline emojis.

The Timberwolves still are working to get Derrick Rose. Why? I have absolutely no idea.

Two of the cornerstones of the original The Process bid adieu:

Here’s the latest on the Kings.

So we have the potential for at least two more punchline Kings deals to go down.

Still no tweet from Embiid on the Noel trade, but we have this:

I have kept my promise to you.

Joel Embiid has played 31 games in the NBA.

This is also true:

The Sixers could go ahead and trade Jahlil Okafor as I’m typing this, but the latest report is that he’s likely to stay put.

So they chose to deal the very talented defensive center with limited offensive game over the terrible defensive center with a decent offensive game. Interesting choice.

Remember how Vlade Divac said he got a better offer for Cousins two days before he finally pulled the trigger? That offer reportedly also came from New Orleans.

One place Bogut won’t be going is Golden State.

Andrew Bogut may not be long for Philadelphia. Hope he gets a cheesesteak and runs the art museum steps before he’s gone forever.

No, Joel Embiid hasn’t tweeted about the Nerlens Noel trade yet. I will put it here as soon as he does. That is my solemn vow.

Washington’s acquisition has arrived:

I’m sure the Lakers have called about George. Magic Johnson probably even called about LeBron James.

But I don’t think the Lakers have the players to get George unless they’re willing to part with D’Angelo Russell or Julius Randle.

ESPN is reporting that the Noel-to-Mavericks trade also includes Australian big man Andrew Bogut.

If true, the de-centrification of the Sixers has NOT begun.

Sixers trade Nerlens Noel to Dallas for Justin Anderson and a 1st Round pick

As reported by Wojnarowski:

Noel was the 6th overall pick by the Sixers in 2013 and is averaging 9 points and 5 boards this year. Anderson was the 21st pick by the Mavs in 2015 and is a shooting guard averaging 6.5 points per game. If it’s a 2017 pick, it will likely be somewhere in the middle of the 1st Round.

The de-centerfication of the Sixers has begun.

Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive remains very high on Buddy Hield and also might be a bit of a stalker.

Okay, wrong sport but I just wanted to announce a trade on here:

The Celtics have been linked to a lot of marquee names in the past weeks -- Cousins, Paul George, Andre Drummond -- but it looks like a George deal won’t be happening.

And there’s the first embedded Woj tweet of the liveblog. I’d tell you to play a drinking game where you take a shot every time that happens, but I like you and want you to stay alive.

While there will likely be some trade that happen today, we may not see a bigger name dealt than DeMarcus Cousins -- who was sent to New Orleans on Sunday night in exchange for ... some other guys.

The trade was universally panned. But I tried to find at least some positives in it for the Kings:

Keeping Cousins long-term would have required a contract totaling $200m. With him off the books, Sacramento’s highest-paid players are Gay and Collison – and both of them are set to be free agents after next season. Evans is now the only other player on the roster making more than $10m a year, and his deal is up as soon as this Kings season mercifully ends. The Kings have all the money in the world to go after Blake Griffin this July or Kevin Durant and Chris Paul next summer.

Would any talented, big-name veterans want to attach themselves to this Kings franchise, tasked with pulling it out of the basement, especially in an era when stars like to play on “superteams” with other stars and go after titles? Almost definitely not. But if Hield becomes Curry and the Kings land two other stars in this year’s draft? If all that happens, who knows. Sacramento could maybe even then sign one of the crown jewels of the 2018 free-agent class: a talented big man named DeMarcus Cousins.

The biggest trade of the day so far has been: There have been no trades completed so far.

However, yesterday the Atlanta Hawks got F Ersan Ilyasova and a future 2nd Round pick from the Philadelphia 76ers for C Tiago Splitter and draft considerations.

Also, the Washington Wizards landed SG Bojan Bogdanovic and PF Chris McCullough from the Brooklyn Nets for PF Andrew Nicholson, SG Marcus Thornton and a lottery-protected 2017 1st Round pick.

Ideally we’ll see some more high-profile players get dealt today.

Welcome to the liveblog of the 2017 NBA trade deadline. I likely won’t be able to add any better insight than what Isaiah Thomas already shared above. But I’ll try.

Feel free to interact via e-mail (above) or tweet me at @DJGalloEtc. And if you’re an NBA GM wanting to exclusively break a big trade to this liveblog, e-mail and tweet me. Thanks!

DJ will be here shortly. In the meantime, why not check out Les Carpenter’s column on Magic Johnson’s promotion to the head of the Lakers’ front office.
