As the coronavirus continues to spread around the country and world, the NBA has begun adding stricter and stricter measures, leading to their most recent decision on Thursday. In a memo sent out to the league, the NBA announced that all team practice and training facilities would be closed starting Friday.
The move comes as the NBA looks to enforce stricter and stricter rules on players in order to avoid the spread of the virus.
More than just closing team facilities, the NBA is also strictly limiting where players can and can’t work out. The league is prohibiting players from working out at public health clubs, fitness centers, gyms, college facilities or anything similar. In essence, the league is limiting workouts strictly to home gyms.
For the Pelicans and Lonzo Ball specifically, this puts an end to what seemed like a daily trip to the practice facility. Ball posted a photo from the facility on Saturday and then shared a video along with Brandon Ingram at the facility.
The NBA is allowing players to travel out of the markets their cities play in and, potentially, back to their hometowns and around family. However, players can not travel out of North American currently.
