NBA superstars Luka Doncic and Devin Booker in heated altercation as rivalry continues

NBA superstars Luka Doncic and Devin Booker got into another altercation in their latest meeting as the two went head-to-head.

A swarm of teammates intervened with the 24-year-old Slovenian looking angry as he charged for Booker after the American shooting guard looked to have said something as his team made a defensive stop. With just seconds left in the game with the Mavericks down by two points, Doncic attempted to make a shot to win the game but the Suns made a good defensive play to secure the win.

After the play, Booker angered Doncic as he ran over towards him, with the likes of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Chris Paul breaking up the incident.

It is just the latest in the Doncic and Booker back-and-forth, with the two clearly having an issue with one another after playing each other as many times as four times per year. Fans have noticed that there does seem to be an underlying angst between the two, after they had another coming together in the 2022 western conference finals and then again in December.

With both players being in the same position, they usually guard one another, both playing aggressive and being score-first shooting guards. Doncic has had gotten the better of Booker in recent times, with the Mavericks knocking out the first-seed Suns in a huge second-round upset, which the European dominated.

And then in December, Doncic scored 33 points in an impressive win which Booker largely struggled in when he scored just 11 points. But Booker would get the last laugh in Sunday night's game, as his Suns are now seemingly favourites to win the championship after acquiring Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets traded Durant away to the Suns, joining with Booker and Paul to form a 'super team', meanwhile, Durant's former Nets teammate, Kyrie Irving, joined the Mavericks and Doncic. Both teams will now hope to mount a championship push, competing with the Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors.
