The NBA released a new commercial announcing the return of basketball on the first day of inter-team games played in that league since the early March suspension of league activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The commercial features several clips of the Boston Celtics among other NBA teams participating in the Disney-hosted restart at the Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
And it plays hard on our nostalgia for a season that technically hasn’t even ended yet.
Playing up the unique nature of the Disney ‘bubble’ and the 22 teams participating in it, it’s hard not to get goosebumps at the prospect of real, live games going on in just a few hours from now.
Even with the stark reality of the pandemic still ongoing all around them.
Darker thoughts aside for a moment, it’s worth a look to get you in the mood for tonight’s first scrimmage games of the resumed season.
