NBA postpones Friday’s Warriors vs. Suns game due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols

The Golden State Warriors’ upcoming three-game road swing has been shortened to only two contests. On Wednesday, Golden State’s road tilt against the Suns in Phoenix has been postponed by the NBA due to COVID 19 health and safety protocols.

Following Phoenix’s contest in Washington on Monday, two members of the Wizards entered the league’s health and safety protocol. After contract tracing, the Suns won’t have the league required eight players against the Warriors. The Suns contest against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday was also postponed.

Nine games across the NBA have been delayed this season due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

After entering the league’s health and safety protocol on Tuesday, Eric Paschall was ruled out against the Indiana Pacers at Chase Center. However, the sophomore forward was cleared to return to Golden State’s practice on Wednesday.

Although Friday’s matchup has been postponed, the Warriors are still slated to play the Denver Nuggets on Thursday. Instead of flying to Phoenix after their game in Denver, the Warriors will have three days off before playing against the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers on Monday at Staples Center.

The Warriors shortened road trip will begin in Denver at 7 p.m. PST on Thursday.
