NBA names LeBron James and Jayson Tatum as Players of the Month

LeBron James took home his second straight Western Conference Player of the Month award for the 2019-20 season, taking home the award for the month of February after winning the honor in January. Joining LeBron James as the Eastern Conference Player of the Month was Boston forward Jayson Tatum. Tatum became the first player in the East to win Player of the Month other than Milwaukee’s reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In 10 games in February, LeBron James averaged 26 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds per game in 35 minutes a night. The Lakers went 9-2 in February, with James sitting out in L.A.’s win last week over the Golden State Warriors.

As for Tatum, the Boston phenom averaged 30.7 points, eight rebounds and three assists per game while the Celtics were 9-3 in the month of February. Obviously, Bucks fans have a case with Giannis, as their star averaged 28 points, 17 rebounds and just under five assists per game as the league-leading Bucks went 10-1.

As for the Western Conference, Houston’s Russell Westbrook had the best case to challenge James. Westbrook averaged 33.4 points, seven rebounds and six assists per game while shooting 55% from the field.
