NBA MVPs through the years: The last time each team had a winner

With NBA All-Star voting underway, it’s nearing the time to look at early-season Most Valuable Player candidates.

With centers like Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid, Los Angeles stars including Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and the recovered Kevin Durant highlighting the NBA MVP conversations so far this season, let’s look back at some historical dominance in the league.

Here are the latest MVPs for every team, from Bob Pettit in 1959 for the Hawks – the team with the longest MVP drought among teams to have had an MVP winner – to Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2020.

If a team has not had an MVP, the most recent top-three finish is listed.
