However, you might be having issues scanning your face with the Android or iOS app. If that’s the case, I have some help for you.

I was struggling to get an accurate scan myself. This was my first one…

After a bit of self-deprecating humor on Twitter, I came across CDJ’s tutorial video for scanning your face. It’s a short video, but it has most of the valuable tips you’ll need to get the best scan possible. Take a look:

After using the video as a guide, my scan wasn’t exactly photorealistic, but it was definitely better than the first one.

It seems the most important factors are lighting, the height at which you hold your phone, and be sure to keep your eye on the camera. If you’re managing all of those things, you should be able to get an acceptable scan. So far, NBA Live’s GameFace HD app has been the most dependable scanning app among in the sports gaming universe.

Hopefully, the transfer from app to the console remains reasonably accurate. The NBA Live 19 demo releases at midnight on Thursday. The app will be available throughout the year for fans who want to re-scan themselves or for those who buy the game late.
