NBA Finals: Warriors’ Eric Paschall reacts to Lakers’ dominant first-half performance in Game 6 vs. Heat

Quickly after the opening tip of game six of the NBA Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers jumped out to an early lead over the Miami Heat. A strong end to the first quarter left the Lakers with an eight-point lead heading into the second quarter.

In the second period, the Lakers lead ballooned into an edge that would set the tone for the rest of the game. While the All-Star duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis only combined for nine points in the second quarter, it was a pair of veterans who stole the show.

Rajon Rondo tallied nine points on 4-of-4 shooting from the field with three rebound and two assists in the quarter. Swingman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope continued his hot shooting, netting 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field with a pair of 3-pointers in six minutes.

The Lakers scored 36 points in the second quarter to grow their lead to 28 points before the halftime buzzer rang. With a chance to take home the Larry O’Brien Trophy, the Lakers went into the locker room at halftime leading, 64-36.

Following the Lakers’ dominant performance in the first half, a member of the Golden State Warriors chimed in on social media. On Twitter, Eric Paschall called the Lakers “wilding!!” for their first-half effort.

Despite a double-double on 25 points and 10 rebounds from Bam Adebayo, the Heat could not climb back from their first-half deficit. The Lakers were able to cap their run to the NBA title, defeating the Heat, 106-93 in game six of the Finals.
