NBA Finals: Fan pays nearly $200K for tickets to Game 4 in Oakland

The Golden State Warriors are headed to the NBA Finals for the fifth straight year and basketball fans are as excited as ever.

In fact, one fan purchased four second row floor seats to Game 4 in Oakland for a whopping $181,740, according to Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell on Twitter. That’s $45,435 per ticket for second-row seating.

Finals ticket prices decreased since 2016 for the final game of the series, according to Seat Geek. The last four Finals featured the Warriors-Cleveland Cavaliers matchup, so perhaps fresh blood in the Finals is the reason for an uptick in average ticket prices.

Game 4 tickets in Oakland for the Toronto Raptors-Warriors Finals are starting at $710, but most of the tickets on Seat Geek have a price tag of thousands of dollars. Not a cheap family outing.

In 2018 the average ticket price for Game 2 in Oakland was $596 and the resale price was $1,245.

Rewind one year and the average price for Game 7 tickets in Oakland was $1,090 and the average resale price was $1,662. In 2016 the Game 7 tickets in Oakland cost $1,136 and had a resale price of $1,909.

There is high demand for Finals tickets in the Bay Area and fans are more than willing to pay to watch the action live.
